Expulsado Dean Reed

El cantante norteamericano Dean Reed, fue expulsado anoche del pais en virtud de un decreto de la Ley de Extranjeria.

Fuentes del Ministerio del Interior explicaron que se trata de una medida legal y no de la aplicacion del articulo 24 transitorio.

Segun indicaron, la medida se adopto debido a que el artista infringio su condicion de turista con la cual ingreso a Chile.

Los voceros senalaron que durante su estada cometio actos que alteraron el orden, ademas de injuriar publicamente al Gobierno y a las autoridades del pais.

Dean Reed mediante su visa de turista se habia comprometido a no desarrollar actividades artitisticas, lo que no cumplio, ya que actuo en el mineral de El Teniente y en la Academia Superior de Ciencias Pedagogicas de Santiago, donde se produjeron los desordenes.

Sobre el particular, el Ministerio del Interior entrego la siguiente declaracion:

"El Supremo Gobierno ha procedido en el dia de hoy (ayer) a revocar la visa de turista otorgada al ciudadano norteamericano Dean Reed.

Tal decision fue adoptada en consideracion a que el Sr. Reed realizo actividades que atentan contra la constitucionalidad y el ordenamiento legal vigente.

En dichas actuaciones, incurrio en ofensas inaceptables para el pueblo de Chile y su Gobierno, intentando con ello revivir la peor epoca que ha vivido nuestra Patria.

En consideracion a lo anterior, el Sr. Reed tendra que hacer abandono del pais en el transcurso de las proximas 24 horas."

Dean Reed expelled

The North American singer, Dean Reed, was expelled last night from the country by virtue of the foreign affairs law.

Sources from the Ministry of the Interior explained that it's a legal measure and it's not based in the article 24 transitory.

According to what they indicated, the measure was adopted because the artist infringed his tourist condition which allowed him to enter to Chile.

The spokesmen said that during his stay he committed acts that altered the public order, plus he insulted in public the Government and the Authorities of the country.

Dean Reed through his tourist visa had made the commitment not to develop artistic activities which he didn't fulfilled, because he performed in the El Teniente Mineral and the Superior Pedagogic Sciences Academy in Santiago, where the riots were caused.

About this matter, the Ministry of the Interior gave out the following declaration:

"The Supreme Government has proceed today (Yesterday) to revoke the tourist visa gave to the US Citizen Dean Reed.

Such decision was adopted considering that Mr. Reed performed activities against the constitutionality and the legal ordinance in force.

In said performances he incurred in unacceptable offenses for the Chilean citizens and it's Government trying to revive the worst time that our motherland has lived.

Considering the facts, Mr. Reed should have to leave the country within 24 hours."

Dean Reed ausgewiesen

Der US-amerikanische Sänger Dean Reed wurde gestern Abend aufgrund einer Anordnung des Ausländergesetzes aus dem Land ausgewiesen.

Regierungssprecher des Innenministeriums erklärten, dass es sich um eine rechtmäßige Maßnahme handle und nicht um die Anwendung des Übergangsartikels 24.

Die Ma&szlgi;nahme wurde den Sprechern zufolge beschlossen, weil der Künstler sich nicht wie ein Tourist verhalten hat, als der er nach Chile eingereist ist.

Die Sprecher betonten, dass er während seines Aufenthaltes Handlungen unternommen habe, die die Ordnung gestört hätten und außerdem habe er die Regierung und die Behörden des Landes öffentlich beleidigt.

Dean Reed hatte sich mit seinem Touristenvisum verpflichtet, keine künstlerischen Aktivitäten zu entfalten. Daran hat er sich nicht gehalten, denn er ist aufgetreten vor den Bergarbeitern in El Teniente und in der Akademie der Pädagogischen Wissenschaften in Santiago, wo es zu Unruhen kam.

Der Innenminister gab zu diesem Vorfall die folgende Erklärung ab:

"Die Oberste Regierung hat heute(gestern) beschlossen, das dem US-amerikanischen Staatsbürger Dean Reed gewährte Touristenvisum zurückzuziehen.

Diese Entscheidung wurde getroffen, weil Herr Reed Aktivitäten unternommen hat, die gegen die Verfassung und die geltende Rechtsordnung gerichtet sind.

Bei diesen Auftritten hat er das chilenische Volk und dessen Regierung auf inakzeptable Weise beleidigt, indem er versuchte, die schlimmste Zeit wiederzubeleben, die unser Vaterland erlebt hat.

In Anbetracht dieser Tatsachen muss Herr Reed das Land innerhalb von 24 Stunden verlassen."
