Nostalgias de un amigo: Dean Reed
Su simpatia hacia los ninos huerfanos de Alemania, hizo que desarrollara un festival a beneficio de los mismos, los cuales en agradecimiento, lo reciben alborozados y felices, contentos de estar cerca del idolo.
No nos ha olvidado, por el contrario, el mismo se encarga de hacernos llegar sus noticias. Es evidente que Buenos Aires, la Argentina toda, esta en la meta esperada de este momento en su vida.
"Estoy muy bien y trabajando mucho. Tengo la suerte de ser bien recibido en muchos paises, y el tiempo me ha ido ensenando nuevas posibilidades en mi trabajo. El publico es igual en todas partes; es decir la gente responde amablemente, cuando le comunicamos lo nuestro con la verdad..."
Las palabras de Dean Reed, cuando las leemos, nos parece sonar en los oidos con esa peculiar manera de decir en que con un ingles pertinaz se antepone a su deseo de expresarse en el porteno que el tanto admira.
"En estas fotos que les envio, me ven rodeado de un gran cantidad de pibes alemanes. Sucedio durante el desarrollo de un festival que realice a benficio de un asilo. La alegria de tantos chicos, fue el mejor pago que recibi por mi trabajo. Tuve que firmar infinidad de autografos y quede comprometido de volver a visitarlos..."
Mirando la foto, nos damos cuenta que el tiempo que hace que no esta con nosotros, ha marcado en el rostro de Dean la acentuacion de los rasgos de su innegable simpatia.
"En estos momentos me encuentro en Rumania. Estoy viviendo una de las mas grandes emociones de mi vida. Les decia que el paso del tiempo ha ido sumando posibilidades a mi labor. Hace mucho me estoy dedicando a escribir. Y justamente aqui en Rumania, estoy protagonizando una pelicula con un libro que me pertenece y que titule "HERMANOS DE SANGRE". Me sentiria muy feliz si alguna vez supiese que mi pelicula es juzgada por el publico argentino."
A cada instante de la carta, la nostalgia por la tierra que le brindara la oportunidad de saltar a la gran popularidad. Hasta volver a trabajar para los amigos de la Argentina, que no olvido en ningun momento.

Memory of a friend: Dean Reed
His affecction for the Germany' s orphans made him to organize a festival on their benefit, which in a way to thanks him, they greeted him excited and happy of being able to be close to the idol.
He hasn't forgotten us, in the opposite. He is in charge of send us his latest news by himself. It's clear that Buenos Aires, the whole Argentina is one of his goals in life.
"I am doing very well and I have lots of work. I have been lucky of being welcome in several countries, and the time has showed me new possibilities in my work. The public is the same everywhere, meaning that people is very kind when we communicate the truth..."
When we read Dean Reed's words it seems that we are hearing his peculiar accent in which his strong English is placed before to his desires of expressing himself in "porteno" (Spanish) which he admires so much.
"In the pictures I am sending you, you can see me surrounded by quite a few of german children. This happened during a festival that I organized for a shelter. The joy of these kids was the best payment that I got for my work. I had to sign tons of authographs and I made a commitment to return to visit them again..."
Looking at the picture we realize that the time he hasn't been with us has accentuated in his face the characteritics of his immense charm.
"Right now I am in Rumania. I am living one of the biggest emotions of my life. I was saying that according as time goes by has been adding more posibilities to my work. It's has been a long time that I started writing, and precisely here in Rumania I am shooting a movie with the script writen by me which name is "Blood brothers". I would be very happy if someday I knew that my movie is judged by the Argentinian public."
In every sentence of the letter you can feel the homesickness for the land that gave him the opportunity of becoming so popular and at the same time to work for his friends in Argentina whom he has never forgotten.

Erinnerungen an einen Freund: Dean Reed
Seine Sympathie für die Waisenkinder in Deutschland bewog ihn, ein Festival für sie zu veranstalten. Voller Dankbarkeit empfangen sie ihn und sind glücklich, ihrem Idol nah zu sein.
Er hat uns nicht vergessen, im Gegenteil. Er selbst teilt uns die Neuigkeiten aus seinem Leben mit. Offensichtlich richtet er seine Aufmerksamkeit in diesem Moment seines Lebens auf Buenos Aires und ganz Argentinien.
"Es geht mir sehr gut und ich arbeite viel. Ich habe das Glück, dass ich in vielen Ländern gut aufgenommen werde und die Zeit hat mir neue Arbeitsmöglichkeiten aufgezeigt. Das Publikum ist überall gleich. Das heißt, die Leute reagieren freundlich, wenn sie merken, dass man ehrlich zu ihnen ist..."
Als wir die Worte von Dean Reed lesen, scheinen sie auf diese besondere Weise zu klingen, die sein Englisch immer wieder durchscheinen ließ, obwohl er versuchte, sich wie die Einheimischen, die er so sehr bewundert, auszudrücken.
"Auf den Fotos, die ich euch schicke, seht ihr mich umringt von vielen deutschen Kindern. Das war auf einem Festival zu Gunsten eines Heims. Die Freude so vieler Kinder war der beste Lohn für meine Arbeit. Ich musste unzählige Autogramme geben und versprechen, dass ich sie wieder besuchen werde..."
Wenn wir das Foto betrachten, sehen wir, dass die Gesichtszüge von Dean nur noch umso sympathischer geworden sind, seit er nicht mehr bei uns ist.
"Zur Zeit befinde ich mich in Rumänien. Ich erlebe eine der größten Emotionen meines Lebens. Ich habe bereits erzählt, dass ich mit der Zeit neue Arbeitsmöglichkeiten entdeckt habe. Seit langer Zeit widme ich mich dem Schreiben. Und hier in Rumänien spiele ich gerade die Hauptrolle in einem Film, für den ich selbst das Drehbuch geschrieben habe. Er trägt den Titel "Blutsbrüder". Ich würde mich sehr freuen, wenn ich eines Tages erfahren würde, dass auch das argentinische Publikum meinen Film schätzt."
Der Brief lässt in jeder Zeile die Sehnsucht nach dem Land spüren, das ihm die Möglichkeit für seine große Popularität gegeben hat. "Bis ich wieder für euch arbeite, werde ich meine argentinischen Freunde niemals vergessen."
